AEK – International Regulatory Conference for 2026.
At the invitation of the Agency for Electronic Communications, NEXT-EM dooel attended the International Regulatory Conference which was held from 18 to 20 May 2026. at the Hotel “Metropol” in Ohrid. For twelve years in a row, AEK has been organizing the International Regulatory Conference, in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union, in order to stimulate public debate on issues related to the latest technological achievements in the ICT sector, through the exchange of opinions, solutions to possible problems, best practices and experiences. This conference was opened by the Director of the Agency for Electronic Communications, Mr. Jeton Akiku. Introductory speeches were also given by the President of the AEC Commission – Prof. Dr. Orce Simov, a representative from the Ministry of Digital Transformation – Radoslav Nastasijević Vardžiski – Deputy Minister and a representative of ITU – Jaroslav Ponder, Head of the ITU Office for Europe. This conference brought together participants from across Europe, including government representatives, representatives of the International Telecommunication Union, regulatory bodies, academia, operators, industry experts and other companies, as well as prominent figures from the national and global electronic communications market. The conference, under the motto “Rules for Tomorrow Meet Today”, with topics discussed in 6 sessions, reflects the essence of the transformative period, in which current decisions, discussions, and expertise directly influence the rules that will govern the future landscape of electronic communications, actively shaping the regulatory framework of the future. NEXT-EM dooel also actively participated.
