The Institute for Democracy "Societas Civilis" - Skopje organized a conference on the manner in which the governing structures and procedures governing public enterprises, state enterprises and independent bodies are elected and appointed. The conference was held on March 28, 2019. at Hotel Stone Bridge, starting at 9.30 am.

The event is part of a project funded by the United Kingdom through the United Kingdom Government. The conference presented the research findings as well as the recommendations for improving the legal and institutional set-up when it comes to the appointments of the governing structures. Detailed findings from previous studies reveal that due to lack of procedures these organizations leave room for corruptive influences as well as recommendations for improving the situation. Significant gender inequality in the representation in the governing structures is also noticed.
