Freedom and the Internet in Macedonia

Foundation Open Society – Macedonia (FOSM) and the Foundation for Internet and Society Metamorphosis organized the Conference “Freedom and the Internet in Macedonia” held on May 11 (Friday) 2018. at the Museum of Contemporary Art at 11 am.

In the introductory address, on the theme of FREE CURRENT INFORMATION CIRCULATION – PRESENTATION FOR OPEN SOCIETY, spoke Santa ARGIROVA, member of the Open Society Foundation Open Society Foundation Macedonia and Bardhyl JASHARI, Director of the Internet and Society Foundation Metamorphosis. Following were three panels for discussion: PANEL I, KEY MOMENTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNET IN MMK. attended by Sofce JOVANOVSKA, Head of the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of economic issues and coordination with the economic departments,Jovan KOLOV, Netsetera, Ognen FIRFOV, director of internal audit, Makedonski Telekom, Igor TRAJKOVSKI, founder and owner of Time.mk and moderator Filip STOJANOVSKI, program director, Metamorphosis. In PANEL II, THE ROLE OF ONLINE MEDIA IN THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM OF REPORT, spoke Branko GEROSKI, Plusinfo editor, Elida ZULBEARI, editor of Portalb.mk, Zoran ANDONOVSKI, editor of Meta.mk, Nikola GELEVSKI, editor of Okno.mk and moderator Violeta GLIGOROSKA, Project Coordinator, Metamorphosis. In PANEL III, plagiarism and false news – a threat to professional journalism spoke Emir ZULEJHIKJ, editor of raskrinkavanje.ba Sarajevo, BiH, Tomislav GEORGIEV photographer, Natalija MILENKOVSKA lawyer, Zvezdan GEORGIEVSKI Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers – SSNM and moderator Vladimir PETRESKI, editor of Vistinomer.mk.
