Decent work for women workers

At the invitation of the Foundation for Management and Industrial Research (MIR), NEXT-EM participated in a two-day training on the topic “Decent work for women workers”, which was held in Hotel Park, Skopje on April 11-12, 2024. The aim of the training is to promote, support and increase the social participation and rights of female workers in Macedonia. The training covered current topics in the areas of: Labor law, decent work, collective bargaining, safety and health at work, gender policies at the workplace, social participation. The training was led by Sofia Volcheska, M.D., assistant at the Justinian I First Faculty of Law at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” together with Prof. Dr. Lazar Jovevski, professor at the Justinian I First Faculty of Law at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius”. There were also guest presenters at the training: representatives of the trade union – KSS. The training was organized by the Foundation for Management and Industrial Research (MIR) and the Association of Business Women within the project “Decent Work for Women Workers – Social Participation and Empowerment”. The project envisages the establishment of mechanisms to support the concept of decent work for women workers, promoting it within the social dialogue, contributing to the protection of the labor rights of women workers, and increasing public awareness of the importance of decent work in terms of inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Within the framework of the project, a Committee for Decent Work of Women Workers was established, training was conducted for organizations from the civil sector on the subject of decent work for women workers, and a study of the conditions of decent work for women workers was prepared with recommendations for promotion. The project is financed by the European Union.
